Visit from the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena

On Wednesday, 6 March 2024, a delegation from the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena visited Stahlwerk Thüringen.

After a brief tour of the company, the young scientists, accompanied by Professor Henning Kempka and Professor Dirk Schmalzried, presented an impressive model for calculating the martensite start temperature based on a neural network.

The discussion focussed on the status and next steps of the research project on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of future-proof steels, conducted jointly with the Dillinger Hütte, the Jena University of Applied Sciences and our company.
